2021 is back with a new celebration of International Jazz Day with the participation of TwinsMusic Enterprises and the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. Together, we partnered to share our love of jazz by doing a FREE admission symposium and live streamed concert at Italian Cultural Institute in NYC.

Tuesday, JANUARY 22, 2019 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Maucha Adnet and trio, “Bossa Always Nova” Brazilian singer Maucha Adnet and a trio of countrymen will charme our TwoE follower on January 22. Maucha Adnet will present a program she titled "Bossa Always Nova" to illustrate the continuing appeal of the Brazilian music which gained world-wide popularity in the 60s. Blending native Brazilian music with American cool jazz, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others became world-renown for their appealing, infectious music. Maucha Adnet toured widely with Jobim from 1984-1994. He said Maucha Adnet's rich, dark voice made him "long for the Brazilian forest." Tuesday, FEBRUARY 26 , 2019 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Pablo Aslan’s Tangomania Argentine bassist and producer, and New York resident, Pablo Aslan presents Tangomania, a tango music revue of classic and modern tangos. Early tangos of the “forbidden era”, classic songs and arrangements of the 1930’s and 40’s Golden Era, the innovative tangos of Astor Piazzolla, and Aslan’s own brand of Jazz Tango come together in an entertaining concert featuring a quartet of virtuoso musicians and charismatic singer Hector “Pulpo” Pereyra. Tuesday, MARCH 19, 2019 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Antonio Ciacca Big Band Antonio Ciacca is the artist in residence at the Pierre Hotel since 2015. Multifaceted artists Antonio often plays great songs at the Pierre and sings tenor with Cecilia Chorus of New York at Carnegie Hall The same week. Renowned international composer and conductor the volcanic German born Italian American pianist writes symphonies, operas and choral music during the day and spoils the two east customers playing the immortal American Song book in the evening. After his Bologna conservatory diploma and his master at City College currently Antonio is a PHD candidate at the Graduate Center in NYC. On Tuesday February 26th, Two E lounge presents Icons of Jazz featuring Pablo Aslan's Tangomania! Join us for an unforgettable evening of classic and contemporary tangos. The Pablo Aslan Quartet features four Argentine masters: Grammy-nominated bassist Pablo Aslan, singer Hector “Pulpo” Pereyra, pianist Emilio Solla and Javier Sanchez (bandoneón). Virtuoso dancers Sonia Villani and Cristiano Adiutori Bios of the duo Tango di Pietra will also perform. Argentine-born Pablo Aslan has performed and recorded with such artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Shakira, Lalo Schifrin, the New World Symphony and many more. His CD Tango Grill was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Tango Album and a Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album. The evening will offer a vibrant set list, from classic songs and arrangements of the 1930s and 40s Golden Era to the innovative tangos of Astor Piazzolla and Aslan’s own brand of Jazz Tango. Doors open at 7:30 PM. $75 cover includes admission, set menu and welcome drink. Reservations required. |
