Tuesday, JANUARY 22 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Maucha Adnet and trio, “Bossa Always Nova” Brazilian singer Maucha Adnet and a trio of countrymen will charme our TwoE follower on January 22. Maucha Adnet will present a program she titled "Bossa Always Nova" to illustrate the continuing appeal of the Brazilian music which gained world-wide popularity in the 60s. Blending native Brazilian music with American cool jazz, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others became world-renown for their appealing, infectious music. Maucha Adnet toured widely with Jobim from 1984-1994. He said Maucha Adnet's rich, dark voice made him "long for the Brazilian forest." Tuesday, FEBRUARY 26 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Pablo Aslan’s Tangomania Argentine bassist and producer, and New York resident, Pablo Aslan presents Tangomania, a tango music revue of classic and modern tangos. Early tangos of the “forbidden era”, classic songs and arrangements of the 1930’s and 40’s Golden Era, the innovative tangos of Astor Piazzolla, and Aslan’s own brand of Jazz Tango come together in an entertaining concert featuring a quartet of virtuoso musicians and charismatic singer Hector “Pulpo” Pereyra. Tuesday, MARCH 19 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Antonio Ciacca Big Band Antonio Ciacca is the artist in residence at the Pierre Hotel since 2015. Multifaceted artists Antonio often plays great songs at the Pierre and sings tenor with Cecilia Chorus of New York at Carnegie Hall The same week. Renowned international composer and conductor the volcanic German born Italian American pianist writes symphonies, operas and choral music during the day and spoils the two east customers playing the immortal American Song book in the evening. After his Bologna conservatory diploma and his master at City College currently Antonio is a PHD candidate at the Graduate Center in NYC.
